Burtis Group was founded by Don Burtis, who previously was Senior Vice President, Senior Fellow at Eclipse Aviation. During his seven years at Eclipse, he oversaw the architecture and system design of the avionics and electrical system on the Eclipse 500 aircraft and the supporting aircraft data center to process and store data from each Eclipse aircraft.

After leaving Eclipse, Don realized that the groups of developers and individuals he had personally validated during his time at Eclipse and prior to that could provide a broad range of services for the aviation industry and others. Some of these developer groups have experience in industrial design for the medical and computer industries. Some are more heavily focused on the FAA regulations for aircraft design and airworthiness. Others provide the people needed to do the intensive job of formal verification and validation of software. Still others have designed some of the most complex portions of modern avionics systems for large aerospace companies. And some individuals, including Don, have years of experience in leading contract negotiations for tech products containing intellectual property and providing strategy guidance and technology roadmaps. Others have a background in setting up, funding, and managing start-up companies ranging in size from a few individuals to thousands of workers making complex devices.  Leveraging Don's contacts and experience, these select individuals and groups are coordinated by Burtis Group to deliver what you need.
